Snapshot Management Table Edit Include Schema for Source and Snapshot

Schema information from source to target for snapshot management is often different. Just as in add tables the schema for the source and the snapshot db should both be present with metadata import using the source schema and the refresh using the snapshot schema. We have to populate SAPHANADB to metadata import, the change to dbo to execute refresh. After initial metadata import it stays dbo, but at table creation this is a lot of overhead.

    This already exists. When adding a new snapshot table, you can specify both the TARGET Database, Schema, and Table and the SOURCE Database, Schema, and Table.

    Note that once a table exists, the Snapshot Table’s details show just the System Datasource and the System Table name. You can’t edit the System Table’s schema from here. You have to navigate to the System Table and change it’s details there.

    We exposed the System Table’s schema on the ADD dialog so you can add a NEW table to both the Snapshot Datasource, and the System datasource, at the same time. This avoids having to first add the System Table, and THEN coming to snapshot management to import a copy of it….
