Policy Definition field on Quick Add screen needs a better user experience when formatting is required.

Frequently when adding a policy formatting is required, especially bullets points and paragraphs. See GDPR Chapter 2 Articles 5-11. No formatting can be used or copied into the definition field currently so copying a preexisting regulation that contains formatting loses all formatting option and is frustrating for the end user when that is lost on save or navigation to the full page detail.

Current workaround is to place bad data into the policy definition field as it is required on the quick add screen. Then paste the formatted text into the full page detail definition attribute.

Potential solutions:

  • Make definition field optional with watermark text suggesting if formatting is needed to proceed to the full page detail.
  • Add a MDE control to the definition field on the quick add screen for policies.
